Dot and Co Project

Dot and Co is a French company aiming to be specialized in Internet domain names, by becoming an ICANN accredited registrar (ICANN being the body charged with worldwide domain name handling) for generic extensions like .COM, .NET, .ORG, .BIZ, and .INFO notably, and also by targeting some national extensions like .FR, .BE or .UK, and .EU which will become shortly the official extension of the European Union (for more details on this, please see Eurid website, official registry of .EU).

We aim to become a major player in Internet naming business, on domain names or for example on digital certificates, by providing support services as well as directly selling products, for private and public bodies.

There is currently in France very few ICANN accredited registrars, most companies that provide domain names are merely resellers of accredited registrars. There is currently no registrar at all with its activity targeting the same objectives as we have planned.

Dot and Co as a French company may seem to be more focused on French or French-speaking customers but is really multilingual (with French and English as first languages, list to be expanded in the future) and targets any individual from any country seeking services related to our displayed objectives.

Our difference will come from our strong will to provide technical excellence through building quality and reliability instead of going toward a «discount» view with volume and low prices often sacrificing quality, which is the more frequent option. We would like to offer technical solutions with a high level of adaptability and flexibility and to be reactive technically as well as humanly for our clients.

We think that there is currently in the market a lack of additional offers next to those based only on low prices.

A market research from Verisign NDS (.COM and .NET registry) confirms our belief that price is not the only one criterion used when searching for a provider : it is on the 9th position in this study, when the two first positions are held by ease of use and customer service.

Thus it sounds reasonnable to believe to be able to create enough benefits from business of «quality» (which will target profesionnals and demanding users) to make Dot and Co profitable and let it think about future developments of projects in the long term.
