Domain Names with Dot and Co

Dot and Co will become a registration provider, typically as a registrar, in many TLDs, selecting first TLDs operating in real time, openly and with attractive prices.

.FR

Dot and Co is member of AFNIC since january 14th 2004 (at option 1). Since 2004, .FR is becoming more and more open progressively so that anyone will be able to chose whatever name he wishes. Dot and Co will sell registration of .FR domain names after this liberalization takes place.

.EU

Since 2001, the European Union expressed its wish to possess its own TLD, «.EU». Since may 2003, after agreement from ICANN about creating this new TLD, the European Commission decided on who will be the registry, the entity which will technically handle registration of domain names. EURid has been chosen.

Dot and Co is officially accredited by the EURid registry since august 2nd 2005 to register .EU domain names, and will inform you, through its web site and its newsgroups on procedures and services that will be available. Dot and Co currently does not accept any kind of pre-registration.

.WS

Dot and Co is officially accredited by the registry as registrar for .WS domain names since july 13th 2005.

Other TLDs

Dot and Co will gradually start to sell other TLDs depending on its growth and wishes of its clients.

Many TLDs are still moving towards liberalization of their allocation policy with lower prices and at the same time towards more automated systems (following a new standard designed at IETF). New standards concerning internationalized/multilingual domain names (IDN) will offer millions of domain names that were unavailable until now: many TLDs and partners (like Registrars) are gradually moving towards that goal.

Furthermore ICANN wishes to create new TLDS. A first call for projects in 1998 gave birth to 7 new gTLDs: .INFO, .BIZ, .NAME, .COOP, .AERO, .MUSEUM, .PRO. A second call has been made in early 2004, and ICANN announced it has received 10 applications: .ASIA .CAT .JOBS .MAIL .MOBI .POST .TEL (2 proposals) .TRAVEL and .XXX, TLDS among which some have already been accepted and opened such as .TRAVEL, .JOBS, or .MOBI for example.
