Dot and Co can build any software for your specific Internet naming needs. You can contact us to describe your wishes and see how we can walk with you on the technical part if you are a registry, a registrar, a reseller or a web hosting company. You will also find below some software developed by us that may be of help.
We can also provide installation, configuration, maintenance and/or technical support on various free software developed by Dot and Co or some others products already used in your systems.
Dot and Co expertise comes from participation in IETF working groups related to domain names and new protocols, as well as building solutions for some registrars.
Please note that specific incentives/advantages are given to any development whose result can be redistributed as free software.
If you are a registrar, a reseller of a registrar, a client of a registrar or a reseller, you have to take into account the problem of access to your provider’s interfaces needed for handling your domain names. In which case you will soon come to the conclusion that it is a jungle, with so many distinct interfaces and services: websites have nothing in common, you have sometimes to send an email with a specific format, each registry implements another flavour of a protocol, even if a new standard (EPP) now exists which should hopefully be used everywhere in the future. In short, it can really fast become a nightmare to manage a plethora of software and procedures to handle all cases.
For this difficult problem, Dot and Co provides an easy and elegant solution: Net::DRI,
a framework for connecting, which encapsulates and abstracts specifics of each provider,
while being a free software implementation of some standards such as RRP or EPP.
You can find more details in our
section dedicated to Net::DRI.
Some tools are not directly related to Dot and Co activity but are nonetheless useful for daily operation.
You can find below some tools available.
Finance::Bank::FR::SG::Pro
to fetch financial data from Société Générale (French bank) web site for professional accounts.
perl_build_dep/perl_search_dep
to easily track which functions in which modules is used by a given program, and reciprocally to find where a given
function in a given module is being called.
These tools are especially useful when you need to update a module API, but do not handle object oriented code.
